Welcome to my photography website! I’m Paul Newbery, a passionate landscape photographer in the beautiful South West of England. My photography journey began when my grandfather handed me a 120mm roll film camera as a child, igniting a lifelong love for capturing the world around me. Although my career initially led me into the IT security industry and later into web design and SEO, my true calling has always been behind the camera, exploring and documenting the natural world.
In 2014, I made a significant shift in my career by transitioning from web design to pursuing photography more seriously. I started as a professional wedding photographer, which allowed me to hone my skills and gain valuable experience. However, while the work was rewarding, I found that the demands of wedding photography took away too many of my weekends and evenings. This realisation led me to refocus on what I truly love: landscape photography.
Now, I dedicate my time to exploring the stunning landscapes of the South West and beyond, capturing the beauty of nature through my lens. The South West of England offers a rich tapestry of photographic opportunities, from its rugged coastlines and rolling hills to its charming villages and historic sites. Each location provides a unique backdrop, inspiring me to create images that convey the tranquillity and majesty of the natural world.
With the advancement of digital photography, my passion has only grown stronger. Modern digital cameras allow me to capture the intricate details and vibrant colours of the landscapes I explore. The flexibility and creative potential of digital photography enable me to experiment with different techniques and styles, constantly evolving and improving my craft.
My work is driven by a love for the outdoors and a desire to share the awe-inspiring scenes I encounter. Through my photographs, I aim to transport viewers to the serene and breathtaking places I visit, inspiring a deeper appreciation for the beauty surrounding us.
