Valencia 2026 is a small black and white photography ebook documenting a short trip to the Spanish city of Valencia.
Having visited and photographed Valencia many times over the years, this particular trip was approached differently. Instead of digital cameras, the photographs in this collection were made entirely on film using a Voigtländer Bessa R rangefinder, a vintage Jupiter-8 lens, and Ilford HP5 black and white film.
Working with film changes the rhythm of photography. With only a limited number of frames available, each photograph becomes more considered. Light, shadow, and composition take priority over speed.
Valencia is an ideal city for this slower approach. The historic old town sits alongside the dramatic modern architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences, creating strong visual contrasts that work beautifully in black and white.
This ebook contains a small curated collection of photographs taken during that visit — from architectural studies and street scenes to quieter moments observed while walking through the city.
The book includes a short foreword and introduction explaining the approach behind the photographs.
This ebook is offered as a free download and is intended simply as a small photographic record of the trip.
